Default Is this any good?

Hi Guys,
So I am doing some work to my website, and it is nowhere near finished but would just like some views on whether or not I am heading in the right direction. Any advice is welcome.
Thanks in advance all.

Hi Lise

I think it's better than what you had. Lighter is definately the way to go, the last one was too dark and gloomy.

You really don't need all those different colour fonts!

Just pick one colour (preferably black) and stick with it.
Take the bold type off and only use it in words you wish to highlight.... <see what I did there?

What is it that your site/business actually does?..why not SAY what it is, what you have seems waaaay too cryptic for me.

Tell your visitors what you can do for them. People who come to your website will have one question in mind..

"What's in it for me"

so tell them

You could do with a few inspirational pictures on your homepage but stay away from pictures of people over-excercising (as it makes it all look like hard work). I must admit pictures of people on treadmills isn't something that makes me want to part with my cash.

Definately some progress there already!

regards
James.

i like the feel from your site it's clean and fresh, but i do agree with james in that you do need to tell people more about what you do and how using you the reader will benefit.

i think your logo could be smarter, the font used looks rough and to me doesn't give a realxing image.

Great, Thanks for that, will keep working on it and let you know if anything changes.
Do you think saying that it is a personal development and wellbeing programme at the very start is a good idea? also, Do I need more detail about what is involved?

The words you choose to use on your website will be the most important, because that's all you have to capture the interest of your visitor. What you decide to put there or leave out is your own discression however you need to try and perceive your site NOT how you want it but how a visitor would like to see it eg: you may want it colourful but they might find that hard to read.
Make your points as easy as you can to understand and use some tactical wording to draw people into your site....ie: Need to lose weight fast? more info HERE, and also make your navigation easy to understand.

I think the first thing is to come to a design that you like before you start working out which wording to use. Try and keep every page to the same feel... not blue text on one page and red on another

regards
James

So I have made some changes and I think that this is going to be an ongoing event, at least until i can pay someone to do the work for me.
Be interested in any comments now.

Hi Lise, It's definately getting better already

Try and keep every page with the same format, heading first, then picture, then content. Try to have all the headings the same size and either choose whether you are going to have them underlined or not, and the same with your main text. It's currenly all different sizes.

You have a whole stack of spelling mistakes to fix (no big deal)
relaxtation, adaptantions and accomidate were a few I noticed.

Can you add a contact form to your contact page using 1and1 website builder?
Some people won't want to call a mobile number and a lot choose not to email as they are worried about getting junk mail sent to them.

I made an image for your banner (you don't have to use it of course) It's a bit simple but something along these lines would be better than just having your phone number stuck into your content.

You are heading in the right direction so far

regards
James

i use 1 and 1 and found them very good especially for some one like me that does not want to spend a fortune on website designes then pay every other week to alter things due to the nature of the business. i upgraded from the basic package to another within the 1and1 deal. i am quite happy with the outcome, but eventually i will either learn enough to build a far better site or retire and not bother at all. or alternatively have enough money that i can employ a web designer who will change things as and when required.
nice clean site, just keep at it, think i might well change the colours on mine.
