Smile Northern Ireland Mums - new site

Hello,

I am thinking about using Adwords but are they worth it?? Have you seen an increase in your visitors or people buying more products off your websites or other businesses?

I would love your feedback as I am unsure as to whether or not to use it.

Thanks!!!

Gilly

Hi Gilly,
You should be thinking about getting content onto your pages before you wonder whether you should start paying for adwords

If you build your pages to be 'search engine friendly' then you can reduce the necessity for adwords by ranking well in the search engines - if your pages are not built well then adwords may be your only option to drive traffic to your pages.

Are you building the site yourself?... or do you have a web designer doing it for you?

regards
James.

Hi James,

I am building the site myself, I cant afford to pay a professional to do it for me! I have constant ideas of how to improve the content of the site but it's just a matter of getting it on screen. My son who is 8 mths keeps me very busy so I work on the site when he is napping or in bed for the night.

Any tips on how I can improve the content and get my site out there? I need to draw in some clients and have advertised it on all the free website submissions that I can find. I wouldnt mind concentrating more on the advertising for people but as you can imagine the whole idea was for mums to sell or swap baby, children and maternity items. I would like to break into the UK market as I seriously dont understand where all the Northern Ireland Mums are!!

Gilly

I would start by filling up the pages that you already have "page under construction" is not what a visitor wants to see. As soon as you have done that then start seeing if you can get some mutual link exchanges with other mother/toddler type sites.
I can give you tips on improving your pages and making your site more effective - however I'm not familiar with 'doyourownsite.co.uk' so I don't know what constraints you are under with regards to making changes in the code.

I also have a couple of young children who are pretty demanding, I appreciate that it's hard work to get anything done at all sometimes

The internet can be very time consuming for turning ideas into real money.
I wouldn't worry about adwords and stuff like that until your site is finished... however long that takes. Enjoying your child has to be your main priority.

James.
